Chicano Batman’s “Friendship is a small boat” will center around a nights journey of Steven, a young man who doesn’t realize he has passed on to the after life. After his untimely death he wanders the L.A. streets trying to find his way home. Along his journey he encounters several people dressed in traditional“Dia De Los Muertos” face paint but with a fashion twist (They are dressed in new age cholo fashion with dope jewelry and slick hair ) Steven is confused as he struggles to comprehend why these characters keep appearing to him and why the street art around him is vibrating with psychedelic hippy colors. Steven eventually stumbles into a whole in the wall type of club “Club Tormenta”. The venue is small, dark, and sweaty, with people dancing and grooving to the music being played by the house band Chicano Batman. He notices that everyone in this club is also wearing the “Dia De Los Muertos” facepaint. Inside this club Steven is lead to a dark corner of the place where a “Curandera / Fortune Teller lady reveals to him that he is in fact dead and that this club serves as the gateway to the afterlife. While reading him his fortune, she explains to him how he died, we see flash backs of Steven’s close friends setting him up, Steven at home with his mother as she tries to warn him about his friends. All of this becomes overwhelming for Steven as he rushes out the club, he runs down the middle of the streets in a frantic sprint. He eventually comes to a corner where he sees a memorial of his death. Video Ends
