GAIKA 'GLAD WE FOUND IT' VIDEO TREATMENT
This video will be a tripped-out, distorted performance clip --emerging from the dying signals of an abandoned, closed-circuit security camera feed.
CONCEPT:
Found Footage. Working off Gaika's VHS aesthetic in recent material, this performance will be a digital signal that has been forgotten and abandoned, playing on repeat inside an empty warehouse's security camera feed.
GAIKA IS THE GHOST IN THE MACHINE.
He appears in the basement, masked, performing to a closed-circuit feed with no audience.
SETTING:
He is performing in a rotting, abandoned basement. In a far corner there is a large TV sitting on a broken shelf. This room was once the security booth/office. The TV screen shows all the angles on the room, and once the song starts, the cameras will pan and zoom into each other.
STYLE: The footage will be heavily manipulated and will slowly zoom in on the low-resolution footage, so much that its actually deconstructing the pixels of the image. Gaika's performances will slowly shift from cleaner found footage to extremely distorted and abstract images.
