Romeo & Juliet with an LA neighborhood twist Rival street gangs replace The Montague's & Capulets. Two Teens in love caught in the middle of racial and gang tension. 

The music video for good day will be a love story of an interracial couple fighting the cultural obstacles that come with the current Black and Mexican tensions that exist in certain Los Angeles neighborhoods. These tensions have been brewing in LA for quite some time and are prevalent within the gang culture of black and Mexican neighborhoods. Even though both cultures share similarities and can coexist, every summer problems arise.

Editing:

The video will be constructed and edited to have the story be out of order, creating a sense of chaos to the viewer mixed in with specific long takes that will draw the viewer into the important facts of the story. We will intercut a lot b-roll shots of the two leads having fun and enjoying each other's company. These scenes play into the story. 

The video will start with where the story ends, two lovers laid on the pavement, Mexican candles surrounding them as the neighborhood watches over them. When the video ends you will be left with the question, where they alive throughout the story? Or are all the fun moments of them together in the afterlife?

Story

Deshawn and Laura are a highschool couple in love and not a care in the world. Deshawn is black and Laura is Mexican. They both live in the Pacoima area just 20 minutes outside of downtown LA. Laura's brothers are Eses from the local street gang and Deshwan's family are bloods. This city is too small to avoid problems, so Deshawn and Laura will have to fight for their love.

Deshawn rides a beat-up 1992 GT PERFORMER bicycle that he's slowly gathered up a little bit of money to fix up. He doesn't want to ask his older brothers for money. 

One afternoon Dashawn's older brother comes up with a plan to smuggle drugs inside of the bicycle frame and have Deshawn ride the bike across town to the deliver the drugs. It's a safe plan easy money no one will suspect. Reluctantly Deshawn agrees and rides. 

Before heading to the drop off destination Deshwan decides to make a quick stop at Laura's house. As he's leaving her house her brothers confront him, throw up their set ( gang signals) beat him up and take his bike. Deshawn must now face the consequences with his brothers. 

Deshawn is forced to take a ride with his brothers to "put in some work" ( get revenge ) to get the drugs and bike back. What ensues is a Romeo and Juliet ending where they both pass, Romeo ( Deshawn) catches a bullet and we imply that Juliet ( Laura ) puts the gun to her head. 

At the end we see the aftermath of all the chaos, there's a candle light vigil and we see photos of the couple next to the candles. The family is in tears. Through the crowd towards the back we see Deshawn and Laura, arm around her shoulder they turn around. Deshawn mounts his bike, Laura jumps on the back pegs and they ride off.
