YBN NAHMIR ‘MAN DOWN’ ft. CHRIS BROWN   //   dir. aplus

The video for 'MAN DOWN' will be a dark and extremely cinematic video. Like a short film, YBN Nahmir and Chris Brown will both play TWO opposing characters, performing back and forth as the video cuts between them.

SCENE ONE: Outside a nondescript home with shuttered windows and heavy locks on the doors we see a bloody crime scene. Inside, Chris Brown and Nahmir perform with the rest of the YBN crew. They are balling out: They count massive amounts of money, drink and smoke as girls party and lounge around them. The place is completely private; lit in deep reds, blues and green neon lights. Chris sings the hook as he peers out the window. The performances are chill and confident as they lay low, completely shut in from the outside world.

SCENE TWO: We start to cut from the first scene to static-filled surveillance feeds of the inside of the house. These different angles are from cameras and bugs planted in the home. We pull back to reveal screens inside a police surveillance van.

Here we see Chris and Nahmir's second characters. They are now playing cops, in plain-clothes with badges around their necks. They listen in on headphones, performing back to the camera feeds on laptops and small screens. The story plays out as we see that they have been staking out the house for a while, they have photos and evidence. The performances as the police officers are intense and aggressive as they observe their criminal counterparts.

We inter-cut between the two scenes as if they are rapping to each other. The security feeds will glitch and short out as the song progresses. In the end, the cops suit up to raid the house, kicking in the door. But we reveal the place is now empty. Everyone is gone and the cops have got nothing.
